Designing for the NSW Waratahs has put me in an special position that's unique in the design world. It's such a great brand backed by thousands of passionate supporters, and it's a sensational feeling to bring rugby to them.
On the flip side, working as a solitary designer in a rugby franchise can be very challenging, there's no money so you have to be extremely resourceful, you have to roll up your sleeves for every type of design work - from leading big campaigns to A5 flyers, you're also expected to produce video, photographs, handle social media and help put a game on (and work) every second weekend during the season. It's no wonder the deadlines stack up.
Calm seas do not make good sailors and I believe this is true of my time at the Waratahs. I will walk away from the Waratahs, content that I have grown exponentially as a designer.
These are two of the campaigns I've led, contributing to the team's campaign for victory on and off the field.
